Description

In Europe alone, an estimated 4 to 10 per cent of the population suffers from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). It is a progressive lung condition that significantly impacts patients’ quality of life and life expectancy. The European RE-SAMPLE (Real-time data monitoring for Shared, Adaptive, Multi-domain and Personalised prediction and decision making for Long-term Pulmonary care Ecosystems) project aims to empower these people with COPD in self-care by developing a multidisciplinary, adaptive virtual companionship programme and drive structural change in healthcare together with patients, healthcare professionals, scientists, policy makers, and industry.

One task within this RE-SAMPLE project is to assess the acceptance of this virtual companionship programme among its stakeholders. To assess this acceptance among healthcare professional in three European countries (Italie, Estonia and the Netherlands) we adopted the Tool+Team+Routine framework. Based on this framework an interview guide is developed to assess acceptance of the Virtual companionship programme for people with COPD among European Healthcare professionals (n=15).

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an enthusiastic master student with a background in health science, movement science, physiotherapy, technical medicine or affinity with the evaluation of personalized health technology or the target population. Speaking Dutch and English is required as conduction the semi-structured interviews is your main task together with analysing these interviews. Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods is a nice to have, but not necessary. The interviews will be planned between August and September 2024. In addition, for the duration of the bachelor project, you will be part of the RE-SAMPLE consortium.
