The eHealth group of Roessingh Research and Development (RRD) works in national and international consortia in research projects in which innovative care technology is designed, developed and evaluated. The eHealth group has the expertise to cover the whole trajectory of development: From functional and technological design to implementation in healthcare. The goal in our work is to develop cutting edge technology while also performing excellent science. Above that, we also take care, with all stakeholders, that our technology is successfully implemented. Our recent projects have focused on very diverse topics, such as social robotics, machine learning for optimizing patient referrals, and motion tracking for physical exercises.

Researcher on ICT for health
We offer a challenging and diverse function for a computer scientist (comparable to a post-doc) in which you work in different national and international projects. Here, you represent the technical team of RRD and guide the technological development of eHealth innovations. You translate requirements and use cases into an architecture and technological specifications. All the while, you aim to innovate on the conceptual and technological design. Therefore, you bring along a lot of creativity and the interest to build (or continue) an expertise on a specific topic (for example in the area of Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, personalization, or robotics). You can innovate in the form of (open source) technology, scientific publications, or via a combination thereof.
What we are looking for
An enthusiastic and driven researcher with an interest in the healthcare domain. You have a PhD degree in computer science or a related subject. Excellent communication skills in English are a prerequisite (both oral and in writing), giving the multidisciplinary character of the work and all the contact with colleagues and partners in the Netherlands and Europe. You have good organizational skills, are precise and have perseverance.
Specifically, we are looking for the following skills/knowledge:
- Creativity in conceptual and technological design
- The ability to spot innovation potential in the eHealth domain
- Knowledge in ICT-, application-, and database architecture
- Experience with development in Java, integration with REST APIs
What we offer
A challenging job for which the starting date will be chosen together. Initially, you will receive a contract for 2 years and a working week of 36 hours. If we are both satisfied after two years, we will convert this into a permanent contract. The function falls under the collective labour agreement for Dutch hospitals, and salary is set between € 3322,- to € 4798,- per month.
