The winners for the COVR project first open call are found! COVR received 75 applications from 13 countries, of which the majority originated from Germany, Denmark, France and the Netherlands. From those, 21 ideas for safe, collaborative robots have been selected to receive an award. The 21 awards go to 8 different countries, where Dutch applications were very successful, as a runner up after France. A little over a half of the awarded projects are single parties and the other half are consortia of 2 or 3 partners. The majority of applicants can be characterised as technology developer or research technology organisation/university. Manufacturing is the domain that received most awards, healthcare comes in as the other major domain. Four of the awards in the healthcare domain, related to rehabilitation robots, will be guided by RRD: ISHRCA by Gable Systems (Hengelo) together with Westendorp Industriële Automatisering (Haaksbergen), SAFIRE by Hocoma (Volketswil, Switzerland), DROPSAW by University of Twente (Enschede), SAFEharbor by VU medical center (Amsterdam) together with Leiden University Medical Center (Leiden) and Technical University Delft (Delft). We are looking forward to close collaborations with these four awarded projects!
