The eHealth group of Roessingh Research and Development (RRD) works in national and international consortia on research projects in which innovative care technologies and services are designed, developed, and evaluated. Therefore, the eHealth group has all the expertise to cover the complete trajectory of functional and technological design to implementation in the care context.

Job activities
How can we use eHealth technology to map and improve human health? How do we design these innovations on a conceptual and technical level? And how do we make use of concepts, such as personalization, decision support functionalities, and big data? As a senior researcher, you work on these challenges and collaborate in the coming about of successful, cutting-edge eHealth innovations. You perform these tasks in collaboration with the best European companies and research institutes in the area of eHealth.

In your job, you are responsible for:

  • Setting up, executing and managing your own research line (whereby you determine the focus of this research line, in collaboration with the team of senior researchers);
  • Acquiring grants for new research and innovation projects;
  • Managing national and international research and innovation projects;
  • Mentoring junior researchers/PhD students.

You publish the results of your research in scientific journals or you present that at scientific conferences, and/or you bring your innovation to the market, where you (co-)develop value propositions and exploitation strategies.

What do we ask?
An experienced and enthusiastic researcher/project manager, specialized in eHealth. You hold a PhD within a technical area, like (clinical) computer science, biomedical technology, or technical medicine. You have excellent communication skills in English (both oral and in writing). You are also able to collaborate well in a multidisciplinary team. You have good organizational skills, you work precise, and you have perseverance. Finally, you have written a relevant set of scientific publications and you can demonstrate that you have experience with grant writing within the research domain.

What do we offer?
A challenging function for a period of 3 years, initially. You can start immediately. After the 3 years, we will convert the contract to a permanent position, pending your functioning. The function falls under the collective labour agreement for Dutch hospitals, and salary is set between € 3490,- to € 5257,- per month, before taxes, on the basis of a working week of 36 hours.

About Roessingh Research and Development
Roessingh Research and Development (RRD) is a research institute in Enschede, the Netherlands, and has the purpose to conduct high-quality research that leads to eHealth innovations. Research at RRD is organized in two clusters: eHealth and Rehabilitation technology. The institute has about 50 employees with a wide range of backgrounds, such as biomedical engineers, movement scientists, rehabilitation physicians, computer scientists, and psychologists. RRD has a formal liaison with Roessingh, Center for Rehabilitation and the University of Twente, and collaborates intensively with national and international corporations, research centres, and care organizations.
