From May 1, Erik Prinsen is appointed as senior researcher ‘Assistive Rehabilitation Technology for Mobility’ at Roessingh Research and Development. Within this research line, Erik Prinsen will work on the development and evaluation of adaptive assistive rehabilitation technology for individuals with neurological disorders or with an amputation of the lower extremity. The primary focus of the research will be on prosthetics, orthotics, exoskeletons, gait robots, and wheelchairs.
Erik got his physical therapy degree in 2006 and earned his master’s degree in clinical health sciences in 2010. In 2016 he obtained his PhD degree from the University of Twente for his research on an auto-adaptive prosthetic knee.
